Although tungsten carbide is the best material for tips, they can still wear out. Rather than buying a new pair of sticks, you can simply change the tips. This is quick and easy as the tips can be unscrewed.
Black Diamond's carbide tips are compatible with all Black Diamond trekking poles manufactured after 2012, with the exception of First Strike, Trail Back, Trail Sport and Trail Explorer poles. They offer excellent grip on smooth and slippery surfaces.
