How to choose a portable battery?

Choosing a powerbank involves considering several important factors. First, the battery capacity is crucial. Look for sufficient capacity in milliampere-hours (mAh) to meet your charging needs during your hike. A capacity of 10,000 mAh generally allows for 2 full charges, while a capacity of 20,000 mAh allows for up to 4.
Next, consider the weight and size of the external battery. For an activity like hiking, you will want something lightweight and compact, which does not add too much weight to your backpack and can be easily stored. The lightest ones weigh less than 150 g!
Weather resistance can also be important. If this is the case for you, make sure to choose a robust and water-resistant powerbank for reliable outdoor use. An IPX5 battery like those designed by Nitecore is sufficiently resistant to rain.
