As reported anecdotally by a sailor, this recipe emerged while on he was on his vessel during a scientific expedition. And we can trust the taste buds of sailors and soldiers. Indeed, all the recipes offered by the Breton company, Peny, are part of the French Army's military rations. With its robust packaging, each tray may be stacked perfectly and stored at room temperature for at least 48 months, which meets 2 essential conditions, when building a small food reserve.
