Description
The MSR Access 2 is a tent designed for outdoor winter activities such as ski touring or mountaineering. It is based on three essential elements: lightness, warmth and robustness.
The MSR Access 2 tent is made from ultra-light technical materials. The rain fly is made from 20 denier Ripstop nylon and the ground sheet from 40 denier Ripstop nylon. Unlike mountaineering tents that typically weigh over 2000g, this 1860g model is perfect for reducing the weight of your backpack.
In terms of strength, the Access 2's centrally supported frame allows it to withstand the weight of snow that falls on the fabric overnight as well as high winds. This is because the unique cross-braced frame is made from Easton® Syclone™, a composite material derived from the aerospace industry that offers greater flexibility as well as greater tensile strength. As a result, during storms, the pole will tend to bend rather than break.
Finally, the Access 2 tent has a spacious interior, two doors and two apses. Each adventurer has their own space for their equipment and can leave the tent without disturbing their companion. Storage space is also included.
The MSR Access 2 tent is :
- 4 times the snow load resistance of conventional touring tents
- A self-supporting, double-wall tent that is easy to pitch
- Ideal for crossing Western Canada or Patagonia
Note: this is a 3-4 season tent designed for mid-mountain use. For more rugged expeditions, mountaineering tents are recommended.
