Description
The Therm-a-Rest Vesper 45F/7C quilt has a comfort temperature of 11°C, which makes it perfect for summer hiking or self-sufficient ultra-trails like the Marathon des Sables. Its main advantage is its weight: 340g for the Regular model and 390g for the Long model.
To achieve this weight-to-warmth ratio, Therm-a-Rest fills its quilts with 900 cuin goose down (IDFB standard). This is then covered with 10 denier Ripstop nylon. The outer fabric has a water repellent coating (DWR = Durable Water Repellent). This water repellent treatment is the same as that used on Gore-Tex products. In addition to being lightweight, these materials are compact and do not weigh down the backpack.
The Vesper 45F/7C quilt, not to be confused with a sleeping bag, can be attached to the sleeping pad using SynergyLink™ connectors. This helps to limit the entry points of the cold. In addition, the collar and perimeter are padded to avoid thermal bridges as well.
