Exped Dura 8R inflatable sleeping pad
The Dura 8R is a sleeping pad designed for the toughest expeditions. Its R-Value of 7.8 allows you to sleep outside at temperatures as low as -40°C. A safe bet!
Description
The Dura 8R is a sleeping pad designed for polar expeditions by the manufacturer Exped. In addition to being insulating, it is light and compact enough to fit in a backpack. Its other big advantage is its durability thanks to the quality of its materials. A durable and versatile sleeping pad ideal for your adventures!
As far as insulation is concerned, it has an R-Value of 7.8. This is achieved through Downmat technology. This is an insulation made from 700 cuin down so that you don't feel the coolness of the ground. The down is RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified, a standard that guarantees respect for the animal and the traceability of the feather.
When it comes to durability, you have to look at the outer fabric. Exped uses 70D/175D recycled polyester to cover the down. Polyester has the advantage of being more resistant to moisture and UV rays than nylon. Denier is a unit of measurement that calculates the weight per 9000m of fibre. With the same materials and weave, it is a good indicator of a product's resistance.
Finally, the Exped Dura 8R sleeping pad is 9 cm thick. There is no risk that you will touch the ground with your support points when lying on it. The side air chambers are raised to ensure a good sleeping position.
