Vegan freeze dried meals: what are they?

Trekking freeze dried food has become a staple within the hiking and outdoor activity community. Food undergoes a lengthy, unusual process in which it is frozen then dried to achieve long-term preservation. In fact, any food containing water can be freeze-dried — even ice cream. If ice cream can be freeze-dried, why not vegan food?
Indeed, even if you might think that some plant-based foods lose their flavour once dried, the result with freeze-drying is quite different. Vegans can therefore have freeze-dried food to fuel their activities.

Vegan freeze dried meals: good or bad?

Vegan food can be tricky for some people to get to grips with. This difficulty stems from the fact that vegan dishes contain no dairy products, no eggs, and no animal-derived ingredients. Yet despite the absence of these types of products, vegan dishes are often complete and balanced. Sometimes they even provide the body with a far more balanced nutritional intake. Can you eat well without meat? Absolutely.

Vegan dishes are often underrated. Yet they represent a genuinely reliable way of eating. Vegan products are made entirely from plant-based ingredients. A pasta dish made with mushrooms lacks nothing compared to the same dish made with meat. The same applies to freeze-dried versions. On top of that, they allow you to follow a low-fat diet.
