Real Turmat's Bacalhau à Brás is a freeze-dried dish inspired by a traditional Portuguese speciality. Its name literally means "cod à Brás", after a Lisbon tavern keeper credited with creating this iconic recipe. This outdoor-adapted version lets you enjoy authentic flavours even deep in the wilderness.
The recipe combines cod with potatoes, onions, tomatoes and peppers. The ingredients are cooked before being freeze-dried, preserving the flavours and nutritional qualities of the dish. The result is a balanced, tasty and comforting meal after a hard day's effort.
With over 400 kcal per serving, this meal provides the energy needed for demanding activities such as trekking, mountaineering or self-supported racing. Lightweight and compact before rehydration, it packs easily without weighing down your rucksack.
Easy to prepare — simply add hot water directly into the resealable pouch using the fill line, then wait a few minutes. In under 10 minutes, the meal is ready to eat with no extra washing up.

Ingredients: Potato (26%), cod ((clip fish 50%, cod 37%) (87%), citrus fibres, potato flour, salt) (18%), onion (14%), tomato (10%), pepper (10%), olive oil, tomato concentrate, corn starch, soy sauce (soy, salt, vinegar), garlic (1.1%), fish stock (fish, salt, maltodextrin, yeast extract, vegetables, rapeseed oil, seasoning), seasoning, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).
Allergens: Fish and fish products, soy.
Preparation method:
1) Tear off the top of the pouch above the zip closure. Add 360 ml of hot water (70–100°C) up to the indicated line
2) Mix thoroughly. Seal the zip closure and wait for 8 minutes
3) Adjust with hot water to your preference
4) Tear the pouch at the second notch and enjoy!
