Description
The Optimus windshield is designed to improve the efficiency of small gas stoves during hiking, bivouacking or camping. It wraps around an EN 417 threaded canister to protect the flame and reduce heat loss.
By blocking the wind, it speeds up heating and reduces gas consumption. Its main advantage over using a stove without any protection is that it maximises canister range, especially in changeable weather conditions.
It fits common canisters such as the Jetboil JetPower, MSR IsoPro and Optimus Energy. It also accommodates cookpots up to 13 cm in diameter, including models such as the Optimus Terra Xpress HE.
Made from hard anodised aluminium, it strikes a good balance between durability and low weight. At just 87 g, it slips easily into a backpack without adding any noticeable bulk.
