This accessory is compatible with all EN417 standard gas stoves and allows you to position your gas cartridge remotely. It provides stability on steep terrain and allows you to use wider pots and pans.
The MSR LowDown remote adapter lowers and stabilises a gas stove while cooking outdoors. It is particularly useful on uneven terrain or when using a large pot, where the centre of gravity of a stove mounted directly on the canister becomes too high.
Installation is straightforward: one end screws onto the gas canister and the other onto the stove. The burner sits on a wide, low base while the canister is offset to the side. This configuration reduces the risk of tipping and makes it easier to use a large frying pan or pot with confidence.
The control valve is located on the canister side, keeping it further from the flame and making it easier to adjust the heat output without bringing your hand close to the hot burner. Compared to a simple canister stabiliser, the LowDown provides significantly greater stability and makes small ultralight stoves better suited to cooking for several people.
It is compatible with most stoves and canisters with a threaded EN 417 fitting, including MSR, Primus, Jetboil, and Optimus. It is not suitable for stoves with a Duo connection, such as the Primus Essential Trail Duo. Foldable legs keep it compact during transport.
