Titanium offers multiple advantages: it doesn't rust, doesn't impart taste to your food, is hypoallergenic and cools quickly. It can be placed on a gas stove or over a wood fire. Regarding wood fire, this may make your cup iridescent. This will not alter the taste in any way.
