The reputation of the Silky brand is well established. The Japanese brand is recognised in the bushcraft world and more generally in outdoor circles for the quality of its saws. Compact, lightweight and above all efficient are the adjectives that describe its models.
The Pocketboy 170-10 is, as its name suggests, a pocket saw. Its 170mm blade can fold and store in the handle for optimal space saving. You can almost store it in your pocket. Otherwise, the transparent sheath provided can attach to a belt or backpack.
The flexible and robust blade allows cutting logs with a diameter of 8.5cm. Ideal for fuelling a campfire. Thanks to its patented Mirai-Me technology, the Pocketboy 170-10 saw can be used for 3 types of cutting: cross-cut (perpendicular to the wood grain), rip-cut (along the wood grain) or even diagonally.
Regarding materials, the handle is GOM rubber, which offers excellent grip (with gloves or in wet conditions) whilst absorbing vibrations. As for the blade, it was crafted from authentic Japanese steel. The surface was then chrome-plated to enhance its robustness and extend its lifespan. Indeed, chrome protects against rust and resin.
The Silky Pocketboy 170-10 folding saw features:
- A 170mm blade with 10 teeth every 30mm
- The possibility to replace the blade when worn
- Lifetime warranty against material defects and manufacturing faults
Note: favour cutting wood on the ground, avoid cutting healthy trees.
