The ÖKO L3 filter is a compact, lightweight filtration system (58 g / 2 oz) designed to improve the quality of fresh water during outdoor activities such as hiking, bivouacking or trekking. Its 0.1-micron hollow-fibre membrane effectively reduces bacteria and protozoa for safer water in the great outdoors.
The OKO L3 filter is a compact, lightweight filtration system designed to improve the quality of fresh water during outdoor activities such as hiking, bivouacking or expeditions in remote areas. Easy to carry at just 58 grams (2 oz), it filters water from rivers, lakes or springs to make it safer to drink when its quality is uncertain.
Equipped with a hollow-fibre membrane with 0.1-micron filtration, this filter effectively removes particles of this size and larger. It reduces the presence of bacteria such as E. coli as well as protozoa such as Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium, depending on conditions of use. Its filtration capacity can reach approximately 1,000 litres, provided the filter is rinsed regularly after each use to maintain performance.
Laboratory tests carried out by a COFRAC-accredited laboratory demonstrate high filtration performance, including 99.999999% filtration of Legionella pneumophila, a 99.997% reduction of Salmonella, and no detectable E. coli, coliforms, enterococci or Pseudomonas aeruginosa after filtration.
The filter can be used on its own or integrated into an ÖKO bottle for instant pressure filtration. It is a practical solution for travellers, hikers and adventurers looking to secure access to safe water in the great outdoors, whilst following best filtration practices such as using clear, running water.
