Freeze-dried and dehydrated fruit and vegetables

What are freeze-dried fruits and vegetables?

Food is described as freeze-dried when it has undergone freeze-drying. This advanced process preserves food for a long time after processing. It is particularly effective, which is why it is so popular.

For a food to be freeze-dried, it must contain water. This is certainly the case with fruits and vegetables. These have been frozen in advance for many hours and then completely dehydrated. The dehydration process then allowed them to be ground and sealed in compact packages to preserve them for many years.

Our range also includes powdered fruits and vegetables. These are easy to use and will help you daily whether you're an athlete or not.

What are the advantages of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables during outdoor activities?

Freeze dried food is specially designed for outdoor enthusiasts. Firstly, being fruits and vegetables, they complement your diet to help you boost your energy. They are an excellent way to stay hydrated when you're in nature. Since they are freeze-dried, they become much easier to transport. In fact, they lose over 80% of their original weight.

You can therefore take several packages of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables with you on your expeditions. This is a refreshing change from carrying whole fruits in your bag, which take up a lot of space and are really heavy.

Freeze-dried fruits and vegetables retain their taste and colour. Once rehydrated, you can enjoy the natural colours of your fruit juices or smoothies. You won't have to consume bland drinks either. Their sweet and pleasant flavour is maintained.

Their nutritional value is also preserved. You can easily replenish the energy you need to sustain your expedition. On our website, you'll discover all sorts of fruits (raspberries, bananas, strawberries, blueberries…) and vegetables (spinach, beetroot, cabbage…) in powder form.

What are the benefits of fruits and vegetables for athletes?

Fruit and vegetables contain a lot of water, making them a useful way to help you stay hydrated during exercise. Depending on how hard you work, you can lose 1 to 3 litres (approximately 1.8 to 5.3 pints) of water during physical activity. That is a substantial amount, which is why some dietitians recommend drinking water every 20 minutes. Fruit and vegetables can help too.

They also have a moderate glycaemic index. This will help you conserve energy and remain efficient over an extended period. Their richness in fibre will give you a feeling of fullness. We should also mention that they are rich in vitamins and minerals. These are essential for limiting fatigue and helping you push your limits. They will also assist you during the recovery phase.

By consuming vegetable smoothies, you can boost your calcium intake, an essential nutrient for bone development.

Daily use of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables

As mentioned above, our powdered fruits and vegetables will also be useful for non-outdoor activities. They will make your life easier on a daily basis. Mainly due to their ease of preparation. This is a huge change from washing and then squeezing fruits for long minutes to ultimately obtain a small quantity of juice.

Simply pour a few tablespoons of one of these powders into a container and add cold water. Stir everything together and it's ready. You'll save enormous amounts of time in the kitchen. It's a great solution for making fruit juice quickly for children's snacks, for example. We should point out that our products are 100% natural and organic. They contain no additives, preservatives or colourings.

If you often struggle to get your child to eat vegetables, freeze-dried vegetables are perfect for you. Simply add one or more spoonfuls to a quiche, for example. This way, you'll get them to eat their vegetables effortlessly.

You can unleash your creativity and make healthy and delicious cocktails and smoothies. Ground fruits can serve as flavouring for your yoghurts or cakes.
