The Gossamer Gear Mariposa 60 backpack is an iconic model in the long-distance hiking world. Designed to offer an outstanding balance between lightweight construction and carrying capacity, it lets you pack a full kit for multi-day journeys while keeping weight to a minimum. Its recycled Robic nylon construction provides excellent resistance to cuts and tears, while remaining durable in the demanding conditions of the outdoors.
With its generous 60-litre capacity, this pack is built for big adventures — whether hiking, bivouacking, or long-distance trekking. Numerous exterior pockets make it easy to organise your gear and access essential items quickly. Its design also easily accommodates a bear canister or bulky equipment for extended expeditions.
Carrying comfort is optimised through an S-shaped harness and load lifters that ensure balanced weight distribution. The PVT Frame + Belt system, a hallmark of Gossamer Gear, combines a closed-frame aluminium stay with a pivoting hip belt. This setup allows the pack to follow the body's natural walking movements, improving stability and comfort during long days on the trail.
The hip belt is available in several sizes and shapes to best suit different body types. It wraps securely around the hips for optimal load transfer, reducing friction and enhancing comfort. The load lifters have also been redesigned to work seamlessly with the pack's new structure and improve overall carrying performance.
