The Zpacks Plex Solo is a single person tent with a total weight of only 395g. It is also very compact (28 x 12.7 cm) and is popular with hikers who are looking for a comfortable shelter without taking up too much space. This model will accompany you on a multi-day trek in the mountains as well as for a weekend hike in the forest.
The special feature of the Plex Solo is that it does not have a pole. To assemble it, you need to use hiking poles that serve as pegs to raise the roof. Guy ropes (included) and pegs (sold separately) will secure the tent to the ground.
The Zpacks Plex Solo is a single-wall tent, which saves weight. It is important to ensure that the tent is well ventilated to prevent condensation. This model is also non-self-supporting. Sardines/haubans are therefore necessary to assemble it.
The Plex Solo is made of dyneema. Dyneema is becoming increasingly popular in the outdoor world. Why? It is stronger and lighter than the nylon found in most tents. In addition, Dyneema® has waterproof properties. It does not require polyurethane or silicone treatment. The water column of the roof is 15,000 mm and the floor is up to 20,000 mm. This is more than enough for sleeping in the rain.
This Zpacks tent has an entrance and an apse. The mosquito net has a rainbow zip. The door consists of two parts (left and right) that can be attached to a metal hook. You can close only one side of the door if you want to protect yourself from the wind, for example.
