Euroschirm Swing Hands-Free Umbrella

The Euroschirm Swing Handsfree Umbrella is more than just an umbrella. It was specially designed for hiking. For this, it has two essential features: very good wind resistance and a fastening system to keep your hands free.

Regarding wind resistance, the mast and the ribs (also called branches) are made of fibreglass. This material has two advantages. On the one hand, it is highly resistant. On the other, it is flexible. In other words, in case of wind, there is little chance that the canvas of the Euroschirm Swing Umbrella will turn over. And if that happens, the fibreglass will return to its original shape without any issue, unlike other materials such as steel.

The Euroschirm Swing Hiking Umbrella has been tested in the wind tunnel of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, one of of the most prestigious research centres in Germany. The second special feature of this hiking umbrella is that it has a fastening system that allows you to keep your hands free. Two straps are supplied with the Euroschirm Swing Handsfree. The first attaches at the shoulder strap and the second at the hip belt. You can choose to place these bindings based on the direction of the rain: left, right or diagonally (one strap on the left shoulder strap and the other on the right hip belt or vice versa), so that even after a whole day of rain, you will stay dry.

A much appreciated comfort especially when you have no way to dry your clothes during the night. But above all, you will keep your hands free. It’s practical for holding poles, reading a map, taking photos or simply not having to hold the handle all the time. Finally, the handle of the Euroschirm Hands-Free Umbrella folds up. With a maximum size of 110 cm, you can fold it up to 76 cm. Small loops then allow you to hang it on your backpack. Perfect for having it quickly to hand.
