The off-season marking the end of summer and a certain carefree attitude, the thermometer plummets, the sun fades and the first storms blow. The latter will follow one another, just like the rain, the snow, the greyness and the endless nights, which will immerse us inexorably in winter… The scene is set!
Yet any self-respecting adventurer will not be discouraged for all that! He remains aware of the present moment by seizing upon those treasures that surround him: nature and its ornaments of gold and ice, the force of the winds, the final nuts on the path. Everything is already "signposted" and the environment invites you to slow down. Perched in a refuge, snuggled up in the cabin of a sailboat or lost on an ultra track, we pause to recharge our batteries with comforting flavours. The power of cheese or mushrooms, apple and other seasonal flavours carry each explorer into a cocoon of sweetness.  There is none of the fun of losing your crouton in the fondue, but they are very crispy, because they are kept in a separate bag. This freeze-dried MX3 recipe made from Emmental, Comté, Cantal and fresh Tomme is quite compact, but will be great for any meal in the middle of the mountains.

It is a generous recipe, with an appetising scent. Once rehydrated, the tartiflette becomes compact and resembles a puree. The texture is nice, but we would ask for even more cheese!

One of our best sellers, a safe bet from Lyophilise & Co. This freeze-dried dish, made from Fresh Tomme, has been giving pleasure for years. This compact mash is quite salty. We are unanimous about the “full” feeling: this is a recipe that "lasts"!

A very nice dish, both in terms of appearance and aroma! We love to travel into the mountains. Fans of "cheese" will be served with the ever-present cheese that could border on disgust perhaps for some. We can clearly see the pieces, we are salivating already at the sight of the cheese stretching at the first stroke of a fork. On the whole, we were delighted to come across ham during this tasting.

  • Tartiflette – Bocaux & Petits plats – Sterilised catering dish

The tartiflette from Bocaux & Petits Plats is prepared for us by Aline, an artisan caterer from Finistère. With this recipe, consisting purely of natural ingredients, there is no risk of adding too much or too little water… The sterilised dishes simply heat up. The pieces are beautiful but the whole is a bit runny and lacks “au gratin”. We have enhanced it with a pinch of salt. Lovers of wine and onions will be delighted; it melts in the mouth!
