Alan Roberts - Sailor
His story
"I have always dreamed of being a sailor, when i grew up I had close contact with may of the legends of the sport through my fathers work. I initially started sailing in the optimist when we lived in Mallorca, I then progressed through a range of national classes and small dinghy's upon moving back to the UK. building up my knowlage of sailing by racign with many different people in a multitude of classes, i also studies the theoretical side gaining a degree in naval architecture and engineering from Southampton Solent university.
having graduated, i worked in the marine industry for a few years, working on projects from IRC race boats, blue water cruising boats to hight performance dinghy design and builds.
in 2014 I had the opportunity to compete in my first solitaire du Figaro thanks to the British Artemis offshore academy program."
