Description

The Optimus Polaris Optifuel is a multi-fuel stove that works with gas (EN 417 standard cartridges) as well as with liquid fuel. Although gas stoves are the most commonly used option because of their simple, fast and maintenance-free use, liquid fuel stoves are useful in several situations:

- If you are a fan of expeditions in cold weather (negative temperatures), the gas stove will work just as well. This will not necessarily be the case with gas cartridges

- If you travel to areas where it is difficult to restock gas cartridges, this will not be the case with gasoline, oil or diesel that the you can find it everywhere.

- Finally, it is more ecological since the bottle is refillable unlike a gas cartridge.

To summarise, a multi-fuel stove is much more versatile than a gas stove. It will delight the most extreme adventurers.

Regarding this model in particular, the Optimus Polaris Optifuel stove has the advantage of having a single nozzle. Unlike most multi-fuel stoves, you don't need to change it when switching from gas use to liquid fuel use. It is a small detail which is important and which will save you precious time. It also includes a built-in Magic™ cleaning needle for quick and easy burner maintenance, even during cooking.

Equipped with the Nova burner (used on the stove of the same name), it allows you to boil 1 litre of water in 4 minutes depending on the climate with gas, and in only 3 minutes and 25 seconds with liquid fuel. The purpose of the fuel regulator is to control the flame: if you want to boil water quickly, turn it to maximum. If you prefer to simmer vegetables, reduce the heat. Finally, the '4 seasons' mode of the Optimus Polaris stove allows you to get more power when you use a gas canister. Thus, you will reduce your cooking time or cook faster if necessary.

For all these reasons, the Polaris Optifuel stove from the Optimus brand was awarded the ISPO prize in 2015/2016 in the outdoor category.
